NFL Week 8 Fantasy Preview

Kirk Cousins against Bengals

Cousins is definitely going to like playing against the Bengals. Despite having the mantra of being a rough and tough defense to play against, the Bengals have been a weak opponent in stopping QBs this season. Despite only scoring 17 points last week against the Lions, Cousins did well in that game even scoring a rushing TD.

Brock Osweiler against Lions

This is the best matchup Oseiler has had in a while. He’s got a home game against by the far the worst defense against QBs this season. Doesn’t really matter who the QB is, everyone seems to have either at least a solid game against the Lions. With JJ Watt being out, he’s not getting much help from the defensive side of the ball. The Lions having a streaky offense as well, making this potentially a high scoring game, which would only benefit Osweiler.

Christine Michael against Saints

This pick is really a gut play for me. Obviously it’s a good matchup against the Saints, but I think this potentially could be a high scoring game. Drew Brees plays great at home and puts up some gaudy numbers. The Seahawks have been dominant on defense as always, but it’s tough to slow down a locked in Drew Brees. Because of this, the Seahawks will have to keep up and Michael will be the beneficiary of the Red Zone touches.

Spencer Ware against Colts

With Charles still getting eased back, it doesn’t appear that Ware is losing the starting job any time soon. While he’s the premier back, he remains a great dual-threat option. He’s had at least 75 rush yards the past three games and has had TD in the past two. Getting a few receptions is necessary and the Colts are a vulnerable team in that regard.

Larry Fitzgerald against Panthers

Everything that could go wrong is going wrong for the Panthers. Turns out, at least while on the Panthers, Josh Norman is a lot more valuable than the Panthers treated him. This is evident in how poorly their pass defense has been so far this season. David Johnson will most likely get focused on, leaving open the many other weapons on Arizona. Larry Fitzgerald is my guy to receive the bulk of that work.

Quincy Enunwa against Browns

In the wake of the Decker injury, Marshall has been nowhere to be found. Defenses now have the ability to put double coverage on Marshall, making it difficult for him to produce anywhere near what he did last season. Enunwa is now picking up the workload that Decker left behind. Fitzpatrick may be what’s truly holding this team back, but I can’t imagine he won’t be able to get the ball to Enunwa against the Browns.

Rob Gronkowski against the Bills

I will put him as the top TE every week until there’s actually an opponent worthy of stopping him.

Gary Barnidge against Jets

Not much of a sleeper here, but he sneaky doesn’t have a single TD this season. While the name might not be “sleeper” material, he can’t be on too many radars because of the lack of TDs. The Jets aren’t nearly the formidable opponent in pass defense that they once were. Barnidge is guaranteed to get the targets, if he gets into the endzone this week it’ll be more than worth it.
