What is the ‘Game To Watch’ in the MAC for Week Three?

The Mid-American Conference has been letting me down as of late. There definitely has not been as much #MACtion as I would have liked. Although the excitement and play within the MAC has been lackluster, there have still been a few standouts.

Central Michigan quarterback and Michigan Wolverine transfer Shane Morris (pictured) finished with 467 yards and 5 TDs over the Kansas Jayhawks, now I know that it was against the subpar Jayhawks but a win is a win is a win. In other MAC news, Eastern Michigan upset Rutgers by a score of 16-13. No seriously, Rutgers was favored in this one by six points but the Eagles of Eastern Michigan came away with the victory thanks to a strong defensive effort. The Eagles forced two turnovers to swing the momentum their way, both interceptions from the arm of Scarlet Knights QB Kyle Bolin.

After Week Two’s action, there are only three undefeated teams remaining in the Mid-American Conference: the Central Michigan Chippewas, the Eastern Michigan Eagles (above) and the Toledo Rockets.

Now I’m not going to lie to you, the MAC is not an exciting division by any stretch of the imagination but there will definitely be at least one exciting matchup in Week Three. The Toledo Rockets are facing off against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in a huge MAC vs AAC battle. Toledo is more probable than not the poster child of the MAC so this game will go a long way to the legitimacy of the MAC when faced with a contender from the American Conference.

Personally, I like Toledo in this game and I think the Rockets will win by a score of 44-26. There is no arguing that the defense of Tulsa will not be able to keep up with the golden arm of Rockets quarterback Logan Woodside (above). And if Woodside gets going, there will be no stopping the Rockets.
